the title track >radio anatomy< is a synth-laden italo monster, serious dance-floor material. detuned pads fizz under an arp and walking bass, caving in to a tear-away synth lead that pumps the tune into overdrive. the groove has a pace to it and sits on top of the beat and all surrounding articulation and effects keep things interesting.

four modern techno tracks on this first release of an ann aimee compliation series. the first of 4x4 vinyl releases from the ann aimee compilation, inertia, this opening volume includes cuts from time to express chief peter van hoesen and fachwerks roman lindau as well as fellow label recruits delta funktionen and sawlin. all four new and exclusive tracks deal in techno urgency. delta funktionen goes deep and dramatic, peter van hoesen offers up his usual dub-wise textures, whilst lindau pairs icy hi-hats with a heavy stomping beat. sawlin offers the trippiest techno with his delightfully dishevelled >excipidial< and closes out what is an essential piece of vinyl.

after the success leonid neverminds light is here ep, we invited a few artists to reinterpret and reshape leonids work. first up is dutch duo duijn & douglas, who already released on nowar, who took on thymus stimulator and turned it into a deep and funky time bomb. very basic and strongly efficient grooves layered with riffs and counter-riffs, making you hooked instantly. a wonderful hip-shaker! on the flipside detroits kris wadsworth, with solid releases on nrk and boe recordings, applied a more machine funk approach turning feel into a deep jack workout with leonids original dreamy sounds enveloping kriss rawness. finally miles sagnia, whose releases on his own atmospheric existence and aesthetic audio prove to be timeless gems, also combined the raw and the soulful. a true deep house gem with funky basslines, straightforward beats and a sweet deep almost detroit techy vibe.

during a stay in munich anthony shake shakir heard a demo version of the song >hammering< and was so thrilled by it, that he decided he wanted to release it on his own label frictional.
striking about the 12-inch is the way it was done. the basement is the track >hammering<, a techno track that uses a sample of a work song from an historical recording dating from the 1930s. the swinging-souly voices are combined with a clear and funky beat that pushes you forward, and you wont forget the voice for a long time, even after the track has been listened to multiple times.after that anthony shake shakir created a remix that afterwards was again remixed by splits & slits.
